MUERITZ-LAUF offers all participants a unique athletic adventure because only here contestants run around Germany's biggest inland lake. Athletes can choose from three competitions and two distances. Either the circuit around Germany's biggest inland lake Lake Mueritz with a distance of 75 km for Ultra-runners and team-relays. Or the shorter distance for individual runners (male/female) with 26,5 km along the western shore of Lake Mueritz. You can expect an international sporting event in the heart of Mecklenburg, characterized by a cozy atmosphere, peppered up with course records.
Experience an event, which is one of its kind.
The fifteenth Mueritz-Lauf starts on the 22th of August 2015 in Waren (Mueritz)
Mueritz-Lauf presents Mecklenburg in a natural environment, which is beyond compare. The beautiful and exciting course runs around the biggest lake in Germany. In this adventure physical endeavor meets recreational culture. The athletes discover step-by-step and with the help of a stimulating climate the “Land of Thousand Lakes" with its cities, small villages, and -of course- plenty of nature. All in all you will pass 10 forests within the circuit. Eight of these lay inside the Lake Mueritz National Park.

Dear sports enthusiasts, Athletics is exciting and fascinating; doing sports helps initiating teamwork and inspires many people to join in. As a professional athlete, I competed four times in the Olympic Games and also in many other World- and European cups. I will never forget the experience of these athletic highlights.
